Moxy's nutrient scores are grounded in public nutrition science. Our nutrient-to-goal mappings are built from peer-reviewed studies and evidence reviews, and our nutrition data comes from government databases. Here is where that information comes from.
Nutrition data
Food and nutrient values come from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's FoodData Central, the standard reference database for the nutrient content of foods.
Nutrient and compound research
The links between specific nutrients and wellness goals are informed by evidence reviews from the National Institutes of Health and by peer-reviewed studies indexed in PubMed and PubMed Central. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements publishes fact sheets that summarize the current evidence for individual nutrients.

General nutrition guidance
For broader dietary context, we reference public, evidence-based guidance from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
How we use it
Research is reviewed and translated into Moxy's scoring offline. We cite these public sources for transparency. We do not claim endorsement, partnership, or recommendation by any institution, researcher, or government agency named here.
